Welcome to the new Lowdown!

Posted by Sean Cribbs on October 05, 2009

We’re very excited to be releasing the new-and-improved Lowdown to you today! We’re very grateful for your patience and enthusiasm in awaiting this release. Here’s what’s in store…

Improved project and feature editing

We’ve spent a lot of time fixing up the feature-editing interface. The two most asked-for features coming out of the Rails Rumble were reordering of steps and exporting your stories. Now, reordering a step or value proposition line is as simple as dragging it into its new place.

reordering

Exporting is easy! Just click the “Export” button at the top of the project and boom — you’ll be downloading a zip file containing all of your features.

You can also save features without closing, and new milestones will appear at the bottom of your project.

Help!

We now have integrated help using Tender. Just click the “Help & Support” sticky on the right side of the page.

Tunes and Tweaks

The interface got a lot of small tweaks and improvements, especially on the projects and account pages. We also made it easier for collaborators to fill in their information when you send them an invitation.

We have a number of other improvements in the pipeline, but we’d love to have your feedback, too. Just send us a suggestion for what you think it needs next.

Plans and Pricing

We now offer 3 subscription plans that we believe to be reasonably priced and will help us continue the development effort. On your projects and account pages you’ll see a little information about the current state of your subscription.

If you tried out Lowdown during the Rails Rumble, your account is still there. Just log in, subscribe to a plan, and start writing features!

We had a blast thinking about and working on Lowdown, and we’re proud to be bringing it to you today. Why not sign up for a plan and try it out?
